Hibernation Rabbid (later renamed Lapinibernatus in Season 3, also given the name Scribbles in Mission to Mars) is an Rabbid from Rabbids Invasion (TV Series), He is a ancestor of the Rabbids with a deeper voice and a slightly different language that first appears as the deuterogamist of the episode Jurassic Rabbid. And then as the main protagonist of Rabbid 2.0, he is also the main protagonist in special movie Rabbids Invasion: Mission To Mars.

Personality[]

Unlike his modern relatives, Ancestor Rabbid possesses genius-level intelligence and common sense that modern Rabbids' lack. His intelligence allows him to build a variety of inventions from the Time-traveling washing machine, a time-traveling television, and a bubble device. He is also shown to be a talented chess player, as he was able to beat John Charles in "Rabbid Theory".

Like Gina Xenson and John Charles, he can get frustrated by other Rabbid's stupidity, though at times he is able to get along with his fellow Rabbids. He can also be annoyed by the other Rabbids' tendency to cause trouble due to their stupidity, such as them (and/or their antics) getting in the way of him fixing his time machines. He can be kind and considerate, and tries to get the Rabbids to understand what they are doing is unacceptable, though it usually falls on deaf ears. He has a soft spot for Mini-Rabbid. Though their antics annoy him, Scribbles shows he can be like his successors; laughing at misfortune, drinking soda, and even being chaotic, when pushed to his limits. Lapinibernatus is shown to be arrogant at times, which often became his downfall.

It's possible that his desire to return home and/or make the Rabbids intelligent stems from loneliness. Though he is knowledgeable, he does not fit in with the other Rabbids and wants to be around more who are like him. This tied in his decision to be human so he could be with Gina, who was brilliant, and even cross the line as seen in season 4.

Season 4, however, shows more of Scribbles's past. It's revealed he invented Secur-X, the Submarine the rabbids traveled on, and other varieties of gizmos and gadgets; it's also speculated in a flashback that he invented the pretzel island - having created plants that grew pretzels. It's revealed in Mad Rabbid on Pretzel island that he was living a secluded but peaceful life on the island, and aged a bit, due to the grey in his fur. The season shows a darker side to his personality, as he let his desire for revenge, to bring back the age of intelligent rabbids, and his loneliness drive him to the point of insanity. He was willing to force the rabbids to be intelligent, and go as far as to kill them if they didn't. This caused Secur-X to betray him.

Once Scribbles lost his intelligence and became more ignorant then the other rabbids, he became as happy-go-lucky as them, and mellowed out greatly. He seemed happier as he found acceptance among his modern day counterparts, even dancing freely, as they continue to party on the pretzel island.

In Mission to Mars, Scribbles regains his intelligence and once again isolates himself from the other rabbids. The film shows more of his personality. Having given up on trying to return to his time, Scribbles tries to find other forms of life in hopes to make them intelligent. This makes him determine to show Frank Nebula what he is capable of and is shown to be obsessed with his goal. Scribbles is shown to be insecure at times due to how the modern day rabbids are perceived and is underestimated several times by the humans, until Oliva manages to see him for who he is, earning the nickname "Scribbles" in the process.

Throughout the film, Scribbles begins to see the Rabbids in a different light. Through the Martian King's words, he learns that though they are different, it doesn't make his modern day descendants any less smart. He also learns that his need to be in control causes him to lash out several times towards his comrades, and make the problems bigger. It wasn't until near the climax did he realize how his obsession in proving his intelligence made him push everyone away and hurt those close to him. It was near the film's climax did Scribbles finally realize that what his fellow Rabbids lacked in intelligence, they made up for in loyalty and friendship, which finally allowed Scribbles to make peace with them. Similar to the season four finale, Scribbles has accepted the rabbids for who they are, as they in turn, gained greater respect for him, all finding balance in work and play.

Appearances[]

Season 1[]

In Rabbid 2.0, the present day rabbids steal a important part of his time machine and he tries to get it back. He finally manages to get it and then saves the present rabbids from Bob The Dog (who was angry at them because they harmed him). Scribbles and his team manage to win, but his time machine is broken and despite it, he then fortunately learns that friendship is better than anything else.

In An Alien Amongst the Rabbids, He is seen moving his TV Time Machine when the Rabbid with a yellow backwards cap was introducing an Alien who crash landed nearby Rabbidland. He appears again at the end of the episode when his TV Time Machine was destroyed by the Alien who was riding one of the inventions the Rabbids made.

In Helpful Rabbid, He is helped by a Rabbid.

Rabbids Crazy Rush[]

In Rabbids Crazy Rush Scribbles is used as a tutorial to show the player how to play the game.

Season 4[]

He returns in Season 4 on Pretzel Island.

In Mad Rabbid On Pretzel Island Part 1, He has notably aged a bit as there is grey in his beard, it seems his seclusion had made Scribbles lonely, if not insane. When he saw his fellow Rabbids, instead of being horrified, he rejoices, showing how much he missed them. When Mad Rabbid appeared with Nerdy Rabbid, Scribbles originally was excited, thinking more intelligent Rabbids appeared, only to realize it was Mad Rabbid. In Mad Rabbid On Pretzel Island Part 2, Scribbles takes back his submarine and abducts the Rabbids, except the depressed Mad Rabbid, in order to make the Rabbids smarter, so he could relive the glory days. It seems as though his failure to return back to his time, along with his loneliness made the Rabbid unstable and insane, as he goes to extreme lengths to achieve his goal. However, his scuffle with the Mole Rabbid and Mad Rabbid causes him to fail his mission in making his Rabbid successors intelligent. Realizing it was a waste of time, he tries to destroy them, but Secur-X, having bonded with the Rabbids, despite their flaws, betrays his original master, and saves Mad Rabbid. As the Rabbids, who were accidentally grown huge, were celebrating and praising Mad Rabbid and Secur-X, Scribbles attempts to escape, but the weight of the Rabbids, who are still on the ship, causes him to fall into the Disguise-O-Rama machine, with the setting still on low-brain mode. He becomes dumber than the other Rabbids because a toilet brush accidentally touched the Disguise-O-Rama button and it made him dumber. He is last seen dancing, celebrating, and having fun with his fellow Rabbids. It seems he has achieved his goal of fitting in with the Rabbids as he is much happier being ignorant as them.

Mission To Mars[]

After events of Mad Rabbid On Pretzel Island Part 2, Scribbles became smarter again in the off-screen. It's implied Scribbles re-entered the Disguise-O-Rama machine under high-brain mode.

Though he reforms, made amends with the other rabbids, and accepted he is stuck in the present, Scribbles once again isolates himself from the other rabbids, and instead focuses his attention on finding other lifeforms who could be brilliant.

The smart Rabbid's name "Scribbles" has been used 23 times.

Relationships[]

Rabbids[]

For the most part, Scribbles can't stand his modern comrades. Often getting angry and annoyed with their stupidity and reckless behavior. he often tries to keep them away while he works on a way to get back to his own time, which usually fails miserably. Despite that, he does become fond with them, and will treat them kindly, even help them out from time to time. In Season 4, Scribbles has a goal of making the Rabbids intellegent, to the point where his ideals corrupt him, and was willing to go to extreme lengths. Once he became as ignorant and dumb as them, Scribbles is seen having fun and fitting in with the rabbids, making him more mellow and happier.

Gina[]

When she was trapped in a rabbid body, Scribbles instantly fell in love with her. Even though she initially thought he was a stupid rabbid, Gina eventually saw how intelligent he was and developed feelings for him, even offering to let him be human so they could be together. After being dragged away by John, Scribbles broke down and cried and Gina was heartbroken, even beating up John for what he did.

Gorilla Rabbid[]

Scribbles recruited him along with Mini-Rabbid and Nerdy Rabbid to help him win the Rabbidbowl. Despite the initial rocky start, the group manages to bond and win the games. Even after his time machine was destroyed in the end, rather than being angry, Scribbles continued to celebrate with his friends showing, despite wanting to leave, he values the bond he formed with his friends.

Nerdy Rabbid[]

Along with Gorilla Rabbid, and Mini-Rabbid, to help him win the Rabbidbowl. despite the rocky start, the group manages to pull together and win the Rabbidbowl. even after his time machine was broken in the end, rather than become angry Scribbles just celebrated with his friends, showing despite wanting to go back to his time, he values his friends more. Nerdy Rabbid did fight Scribbles during the two-part episode Mad Rabbid On pretzel island, because he feared that by making the Rabbids brain bigger, they would fall over and everyone would make fun of them and didn't want to be forced into doing it and not have fun again. They did makeup once Scribbles's IQ drastically decreased and are last seen having fun on the island.

FBI Rabbid[]

Due to a misunderstanding, FBI Rabbid treated Scribbles as a criminal than a friend. Even going as far as to accuse him of kidnapping and eating the female officer Rabbid, until it was revealed to be a misunderstanding. In Rabbid Handcuffs, the two teamed up to stop the thief Rabbid, forming a bond along the way.

Apprentice[]

Scribbles gets along well with his apprentice. The bond and loyalty is shown in Rabbid Re-Freeze when the young Apprentice tries to protect him from Chef Bunny. He even sends the frozen ancestor Rabbid back to where he was once found in order to protect him.

Mini-Rabbid[]

Out of all the Rabbids, Scribbles seems to be the closest to Mini-Rabbid. Due to his size and child-like behavior, Scribbles tends to be more patient with him. He often acts like a mentor towards the young Rabbid, who in return gives him respect. Mini-Rabbid, along with Gorilla Rabbid and Nerdy Rabbid helped him during the Rabbidbowl. Despite the rocky start, the group manages to pull together and win the Rabbidbowl. even after his time machine was broken in the end, rather than become angry Scribbles just celebrated with his friends, showing despite wanting to go back to his time, he values his friends more. In Heroic Rabbids, Mini-Rabbid is saved by Scribbles when the Rabbids are all infected by Mad-Rabbid's "soda." He later saves Scribbles from Mad-Rabbid and helps him find a cure for the corrupted Rabbids, even becoming his sidekick.

Mad Rabbid[]

Scribbles has a rivalry with Mad Rabbid. They are both brilliant, but while Mad Rabbid loves to have fun and be chaotic like the others, Scribbles is more serious. Scribbles may dislike Mad Rabbid for the following reasons:

  • He considers him a mockery to science
  • He used him to find donuts and interfered with his goal to go home like other Rabbids.
  • He took his pretzels, sub, and used his technology.

Scribbles and Mad Rabbid fought in the two-part episodes: Mad Rabbid on the Pretzel island, even going as far as to let him drown. However, once he became as dumb and ignorant as the rest of the Rabbids, the two got along better, and Mad Rabbid even fixed his robot as a way to apologize.
